Upgrading The Brain® Services
A Multi-Session Process for Resolving Unresolved Emotional Triggers
Upgrading the Brain®
The key concept of Upgrading the Brain® is, like any Operating System on a device or computer, to update the software with what we know now.

I’m sure you’ll find my services helpful and inspiring. Get in touch to learn more.
About Upgrading The Brain®
Resolve the Past Without Reliving It Forever
You may understand why you react a certain way and still be unable to stop the reaction.
You know that the disagreement happening today is not the same as the rejection you experienced years ago, yet your body reacts as though it is happening again.
You know that a message from your supervisor does not automatically mean you are in trouble, yet your chest tightens before you even know what the meeting is about.
You know that setting a reasonable boundary is not selfish, yet the guilt appears every time you try.
These reactions are not random. They often began when the brain learned something from an earlier experience and continued using that lesson long after the original situation ended.
I developed Upgrading The Brain® to help identify those unresolved emotional triggers, delete the obsolete instructions attached to them, and replace them with information that fits the person you are today.
The Past Does Not Have to Keep Repeating Itself
Every significant experience teaches us something.
Sometimes the lesson is helpful:
“I can handle difficult situations.”
“I know how to ask for help.”
“I can protect myself.”
Other times, particularly during childhood or a painful period of life, the lesson may be incomplete:
“I am not good enough.”
“It is dangerous to speak.”
“People always leave.”
“I am responsible for everyone.”
“If I make a mistake, I will be rejected.”
The experience may have ended years ago, but the conclusion can continue influencing relationships, confidence, work, parenting, health habits, and everyday decisions.
You may no longer remember when the pattern began. You may clearly remember the event but not realize how much meaning you attached to it. You may even understand the pattern intellectually while continuing to feel the same automatic reaction.
Upgrading The Brain® works with the meaning that remains attached to the experience.
The memory does not need to disappear. The emotional instruction connected to it can be updated.
What I Mean by “Deleting”
When I use the word deleting, I am not saying that your memory will be erased.
You can still remember what happened.
What we work to delete is the obsolete emotional instruction created through the experience.
For example, a child who was repeatedly criticized may have learned:
“If I make a mistake, I am a failure.”
As an adult, that person may avoid opportunities, overprepare for simple tasks, become defensive when corrected, or feel overwhelmed by small mistakes.
Deleting does not remove the memory of being criticized. It removes the authority of the old conclusion.
The updated understanding may become:
“A mistake tells me that something needs to be corrected. It does not determine my value.”
You still know what happened, but you no longer have to respond according to the belief you formed when it happened.
What I Mean When I Say 90%
I often say that up to 90% of what keeps us in a state of dis-ease may be connected to unresolved emotional hurts.
I use the word dis-ease in its literal sense: a loss of ease, safety, freedom, or internal balance.
I am not saying that 90% of medically diagnosed diseases are caused only by emotions. Physical illness can involve genetics, infections, injuries, nutritional deficiencies, environmental exposures, metabolic problems, medications, structural dysfunction, and many other factors that require appropriate evaluation and care.
What I am saying is that unresolved emotional patterns can affect far more of life than most people realize.
They can influence:
-
How the body responds to stress
-
How easily a person relaxes or sleeps
-
Whether someone speaks honestly or remains silent
-
How they handle conflict and criticism
-
Whether they set boundaries
-
How they relate to food, work, money, success, and failure
-
Whether they continue repeating familiar but unhealthy relationships
-
How much of the present is interpreted through the past
The emotional part should not replace appropriate physical or medical care. It also should not be ignored when it is clearly influencing how someone thinks, behaves, and responds.
One Trigger May Change Quickly. Most People Have More Than One.
A specific trigger can sometimes be identified and upgraded in approximately 5 to 40 minutes.
That does not mean a person’s entire history is resolved in one short session.
Most people have accumulated many emotional conclusions through childhood, school, relationships, work, losses, injuries, disappointments, and periods of fear or instability.
One person may have separate triggers involving:
-
Rejection
-
Abandonment
-
Criticism
-
Authority
-
Failure
-
Conflict
-
Money
-
Public speaking
-
Physical appearance
-
Parenting
-
Trust
-
Setting boundaries
Several reactions may also be connected.
Fear of criticism may contribute to perfectionism. Perfectionism may lead to procrastination. Procrastination may create guilt and reinforce the belief that the person is incapable.
For that reason, Upgrading The Brain® is generally more useful as a multi-session process rather than a single isolated appointment.
We address one clearly defined trigger at a time. As one pattern changes, another layer may become easier to recognize.
The goal is not to keep you in sessions indefinitely. The goal is to work through the relevant patterns carefully enough that the old response does not continue rebuilding itself.
Areas We May Work On
People use Upgrading The Brain® to explore recurring patterns involving:
-
Fear of rejection or abandonment
-
Strong reactions to criticism
-
Difficulty trusting others
-
Anxiety around authority figures
-
Guilt when setting boundaries
-
Perfectionism and fear of mistakes
-
Procrastination and self-sabotage
-
Difficulty speaking honestly
-
Repeated relationship conflicts
-
Anger that feels stronger than the present situation
-
Fear of failure or success
-
Negative beliefs about appearance or self-worth
-
Feeling responsible for everyone else
-
Difficulty moving forward after a painful experience
Sometimes the update leads to greater calm.
Sometimes it helps a person communicate more directly.
Sometimes it reveals that a relationship, job, expectation, or situation genuinely needs to change.
The purpose is not to make you comfortable with something unhealthy. It is to help you see the present clearly without automatically interpreting it through the past.

Life and Behavioal Coaching Session
Life throws many surprises at us, and while we cannot predict the outcome of any situation, we can take control of how we respond to certain situations. With my coaching sessions, you’ll learn about acceptance and how to exert your power of choice over whatever life may throw at you.
Life and Behavioral Coaching
Upgrading The Brain® helps identify and update the emotional trigger behind a reaction. Life and behavioral coaching focuses on what you do with that new understanding.
For example, resolving the fear connected with setting a boundary may reduce the guilt, but you may still need help deciding what to say, how to say it, and how to remain consistent when another person pushes back.
Recognizing that criticism activates an older emotional hurt may calm the immediate reaction, but you may still need to practice receiving feedback without shutting down, becoming defensive, or assuming that one mistake defines you.
Life coaching may help you work on practical areas such as:
-
Setting and maintaining boundaries
-
Preparing for difficult conversations
-
Communicating needs more clearly
-
Following through on personal or professional goals
-
Reducing procrastination and avoidance
-
Making decisions with greater confidence
-
Recognizing repeated relationship patterns
-
Responding more deliberately instead of reacting automatically
-
Creating realistic steps toward a desired change
-
Building habits that support the person you want to become
My role is not to tell you what your life should look like. I help you identify what is getting in the way, clarify what you want to change, and develop practical steps you can apply outside the session.
Life coaching may be used on its own or combined with Upgrading The Brain® when unresolved emotional triggers are interfering with progress.
